landscapes

We spent a couple of days at Fort Wilderness Campground in DisneyWorld.
While on the ship, I sat on deck 11 near the soft serve ice cream machine and painted this view of St Maarten.
St Thomas
While at sea, I sat on the veranda and tried to get the color of the water and sky.
The blues are absolutely beautiful.

These are awesome John and they make me cry cuz they remind me that I'm not on a cruise anymore. With all the food and adult beverages they throw at you, it's good to know you made time to bust out the art supplies!

I love the paintings John! You really captured the intensity of those ocean and sky blues...brings back memories of the boat :)

Thank you both. Yes Mr Tan, I did manage to sit and paint. A common thing for me to lug all the supplies with me everywhere I go but, uncommon for me to actually put them to some use. I think this is what I loved most about the cruise, the time to sit and enjoy myself. No plans, no sightseeing, just deck 11, the soft serve ice cream and my watercolors. Ahhh bliss.

Good to hear from you Stacey and your comment is much appreciated. I am just beginning to understand and enjoy landscape painting.

John, your pioneering spirit amazes me. You have the love and discipline to keep creating wherever you are. These studies are lively and wonderful and just shows that you have a mind that never stops. You are an inspiration to everyone who pauses to look and see what you are up to.

These are great! I like what you did with the water elements here in the last one.
